History of LIC (Learning Innovation Center)

 

Learning Innovation Center (LIC) is a learning innovation center owned by the Undergraduate Program of Islamic Education, Department of Islamic Studies, Faculty of Islamic Studies, Islamic University of Indonesia. The purpose of the establishment of the LIC unit is an effort to encourage lecturers and students to increase the effectiveness and optimization of the learning process through instructional development. The Faculty of Islamic Studies, Universitas Islam Indonesia, launched the Learning Innovation Center (LIC) on Thursday, November 26, 2015 in the FIAI UII Meeting Room. Since the establishment of LIC in 2015 until now, it generally aims to equip students as professional educators in the future. UII in its capacity as an educational institution, has structured the mission of Excellent Teaching University, namely as a university that has a strong desire to realize the best quality teaching. With the development of educational technology in learning, the Learning Innovation Center (LIC) is believed to be one of the indicators that occupies the most important position for an educational institution.

Description of LIC

 

The Undergraduate Program of Islamic Education as one of the Study Programs within UII which has a concern for education and Islam continues to make updates in the development of learning aspects, especially the development of educational technology. The Excellent Teaching University mission proclaimed by the university is not just a plan. However, the mission should be realized in a measurable manner and have a measurable Outcome Mapping. Realizing the mission of Excellent Teaching University requires time and various structured efforts to realize this noble mission. The Bachelor Program in Islamic Education is also responsible for realizing the mission of Excellent Teaching University.

Moreover, the PAI Study Program has long had competent capital resources in the fields of education and Islam. The PAI Study Program has been supported by good management to realize the university’s mission, namely as an Excellent Teaching University. The Learning Innovation Center (LIC) uses the concept of Active Learning with various variations, creativity, and innovative learning methods. The mission of the Learning Innovation Center (LIC) is so that alumni can teach with all kinds of fun learning methods, including providing facilities for the development of education and learning for the wider community. Some of the objectives of this program are (1) Developing innovative learning methods, (2) Enriching learning resources in the form of software, hardware and good habits as learning media, (3) Responding to developments in learning technology in education, (4) Providing services in planning, teaching materials, and operations in learning, and (5) Provide training to teachers regarding the development of learning systems.
